CRED is a members-only club that rewards individuals for their timely credit card bill payments by providing them with exclusive offers and access to premium experiences. It is a platform that allows credit card users to manage multiple cards along with an analysis of their credit score. Members with a high Experian or CRIF score are eligible for exclusive rewards upon payment of their credit card bills through the app. Among many of the features in the app are CRED’s credit card spend tracking and management feature which provided the user with analysis of spend tracking and efficiency of usage of the card.

Responsibilities:

• take deep architectural ownership of critical components within the Rewards platform—driving long-term strategy, ensuring system resilience, and setting high standards for API design, observability, security, and compliance while actively mitigating architectural debt and risks
• design and deploy real-time recommendation systems to deliver personalised user experiences based on individual card behaviour, transaction patterns, and engagement metrics
• scale CRED’s gaming systems that drive user participation—building reliable, low-latency infrastructure capable of handling large concurrent user interactions during reward events and campaigns
• refactor and stabilise the fragmented store architecture by consolidating 22+ microservices into a more maintainable, resilient, and efficient system—reducing operational complexity and improving developer productivity
• actively collaborate with product and business stakeholders to define and refine ambiguous problem statements, contribute to product strategy, and translate complex challenges into robust, scalable technical roadmaps
• champion and drive the adoption of innovative technologies, architectural patterns, and engineering best practices that align with CRED’s long-term vision and business objectives

Skills:

• 1-3 years of experience as a software development engineer in test.
• backend/API testing experience with strong basics and understanding about backend systems
• prior experience in devising optimal test strategy (including functional, non functional, analytics and automation) and test plans for short term and long term projects
• strong hands on experience on functional and non functional testing of backend applications
• prior experience in creating test automation frameworks and self serve tools
• experience in API automation
• strong experience and base in object-oriented design and development
• experience with relational databases and SQL queries.
• sharp analytical abilities, proven design skills, excellent communication skills
• experience handling the independent execution with minimal guidance
• prior hands on experience or understanding on working with elasticsearch, redshift, datadog, AWS, kibana
